二、教材分析
本单元以Mike和同学们在教室里寻找丢失的铅笔为主要话题,引导学生掌握文具类词汇(schoolbag、pencil、ruler等),学会运用一般疑问句(Is this/that your ...?)并且做出相应的回答(Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.)。在学习过程中,培养学生助人为乐和团结友爱的精神,帮助学生树立良好的价值观。
三、学情分析
三年级学生对英语学习有着浓厚的兴趣,能够积极参与课堂活动,乐于用英语表达自我。但是学生的年龄较小,在学习上缺乏一定的持久性与稳定性。因此,教师需要运用灵活的教学方法,设计丰富的教学活动,将学生的学习兴趣转化为学习动机。

能听懂、会说、会读、会写词汇:schoolbag、pen、pencil、crayon、ruler、rubber、pencil case。
能听懂、会说、会读日常用语:Is this/that your pencil? Yes, it is./No, it isn’t. This isn’t my pencil.

能正确地理解和朗读对话,并且尝试表演课文。
能初步运用本课的词汇和日常用语进行交际。
3. 情感态度与价值观:
能与他人合作,培养沟通和交流的能力。
能够学会帮助他人,树立良好的价值观。

Step 1: Warming up
Let’s play a game: listen, point and say
Rules: the teacher say some words (window, door, blackboard, rubber, pen) one by one. Students listen to the teacher, point to the thing and say it out.
(Purpose: help students review what they have learned and get ready for the new lesson.)
Step 2: Pre-reading
1. Look and say
The teacher presents some pictures and teaches some important words: schoolbag、pen、pencil、crayon、ruler、rubber、pencil case.
T: Look. What’s this?
Ss: It is a pen.
T: Well done. Read after me: pen, pen, this is a pen.
Ss: Pen, pen, this is a pen.
2. Touch and guess
The teacher prepares some stationery and help students learn some important sentences: Is this/that your...?Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.
T: Here is a pen.Can you help me find its owner? Is this your pencil?
S1: No, it isn’t (isn’t=is not).
T: Is this your pencil?
S2: No, it isn’t.
T: Is this your pencil?
S3: Yes, it is.
The teacher can write these sentences (Is this your...?Yes, it is./No,it isn’t.)on the blackboard and then ask students to read after her.
T: There is a pencil case near the door.Can you help me find its owner? Is that your pencil case?
S1: No, it isn’t.
T: Is that your pencil case?
S2: No, it isn’t.
T: Is that your pencil case?
S3: Yes, it is.
The teacher can write the sentence (Is that your...?) on the blackboard and then ask students to read after her.
(Purpose: help students learn some important words and sentences.)
Step 3: While-reading
1. Look and guess
Look. Who’s he? What happened? You can have a guess.
2. Listen and answer
What is Mike looking for? (pencil)
3. Watch and answer
Who helps Mike? (Liu Tao and Yang Ling)
What do they say?
(Liu Tao:Is this your pencil? Yang Ling: Is that your pencil?)
Does Mike find his pencil? (Yes, he does.)
4. Think and answer
What colour is Mike’s pencil? (green)
What does Yang Ling think about Mike’s pencil? What is her tone? (surprised)
5. Listen and repeat
6. Practise reading
Students are divided into different groups. They can read the story together. They can read it one by one. And also they can read it after the leader.
Then the teacher can invites several groups to show their performance.
(Purpose: help students have a good grasp of story time.)
Step 4: Post-reading
1. Act it out
The teacher gives students some minutes to prepare and then ask them to act the story out. Students’ performance will be judged according to the rating scale.
2. Have a role-play
There is a schoolbag and a rubber on the table. Can you help them find their owners?

3. Have a summary
What have you learned this class?
The teacher can invites some students to share their opinions and then give a summary.

3. Preview cartoon time.
(Purpose: help students check out what they have learned.)
